Easter Treats For the Little Ones

Easter time is to be spent with family. It’s a holiday that celebrates new life and encourages us to be grateful for all that we have.

But more importantly, Easter day is all about the kids. They wait longingly for Easter eggs, the Easter Bunny, and other fun treats. You don’t always have to go for the typical chocolate Easter egg all the time, though.

Instead, spend some quality time with your little ones and prepare these fun treats:

Bunny carrot cupcakes

Not every treats you make for the kids has to include chocolate. Carrot cakes are perfect for spring. They’re light, delicious, and have one of your ‘five a day.’ Carrot cakes are a sneaky way to get them to eat some vegetables too.

Instead of making a whole carrot cake, prepare carrot cupcakes.  Divide the batter into fun cupcake liners and bake for a shorter amount of time, till the skewer comes out clean. Frost them with a traditional cream cheese frosting with a simple round nozzle and do a simple swirl.

Easter egg cookies

Sugar cookies are some of the most versatile cookies out there. They hold their shape well and can be made into any shape you like. Cut out Easter egg shapes and bake the cookies for 15 minutes. Allow them to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes and then transfer them to a rack to cool and become crisp.

Prepare royal icing for the cookies. Transfer into smaller bowls and add food dyes of your choice. Our Liquid Flow paste is available in 12 colors, and you can create as many color varieties as you like! Pipe simple designs or more intricate Easter bunnies if you wish.

All kids love pancakes. It must have been your favorite breakfast food growing up too! Prepare a light pancake batter and have fun with the pancake shapes! Prepare a large round pancake and then a smaller one. Stack the smaller pancake on the bottom and the larger ones on top. Now, to create the bunny legs, make two small oblong shaped pancakes and two triangular ones for the ears. And you’ve got yourself an Easter bunny pancake! Serve up with some Banana Foster, and Dulce De Leche Spread.

Easter meringue cups

Meringue is another crowd favorite! This light and sugary treat is perfect for springtime when served with fresh fruits. Prepare a silky white meringue mixture with Meringue Powder for perfect ones every time. Pipe a disc shape and don’t make it too tall. Chop up some of the kids’ favorite springtime fruits and place on top. You can add some jam to the topping too.
