Being a bridesmaid is a tough job! Not only are you responsible for the emotional well-being of your favorite bride, you’re also likely to be in charge of several tasks and duties throughout the prep period and the big day itself.
Although the wedding season for 2020 may have been delayed as a result of COVID-19, if you’ve had to postpone your big day or you got married in the past year and didn’t get a chance to properly thank the most important women in your life, now is your chance!
It’s not really possible—or wise—to go out and celebrate right now but that doesn’t mean you can’t show your special girls you’re thinking about them.
1. They’ve been your constant supports
Whether it’s those doubts about your relationship, anxiety about marriage, all those bumps along the planning journey, the stress, ups and downs, the crazy antics and, of course, your bachelorette party, these girls have been through the entire rollercoaster with you.
It’s not easy showing up for someone day after day, no matter what’s happening in your own life. They did it because they love you—but a little appreciation will know how much you care for them!
2. They sat through all the dress fittings and trials
Apart from being emotionally supportive, they’ve also been there through all those dress-fittings and trials and given you the best possible advice and feedback throughout this journey. Choosing a dress and then having it altered to fit you is one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning and having your support system there makes all the difference in the world.
They helped you look like the princess you are on your big day and put up with all the stress and drama that goes into saying yes to the dress.
3. They helped manage vendors and duties
Your bridesmaids end up doing more than they bargained for, more often than not. From screaming at vendors and decorators on your behalf, to making sure your family doesn’t embarrass you on your big day, and that you feel confident, calm and ready, their duties are incredibly tiring.
4. They probably paid for their own dresses
Bridesmaids can’t just wear whatever they want; there’s usually a theme or a dress they all need to get and they’re typically the ones paying for it too. It might be unfair but if the bride had to pay for everyone’s dresses on top of all the preps, she’d go broke!
However, seeing as how your girl squad committed to their roles, you should get them a thank you gesture.
Everyone can use the little pick-me-up in any case! If you’re still waiting on your big day to happen, you can order these fun matching shirts as bridesmaid thank you gifts, and watch their faces light up! Or get your hands on these incredible wine totes and fill them up with their favorite wine and some snacks!
